Go on patrol!      To find out more about Orks click here! (All types!!)

Orks can make excellent patrols, although they don't really go with my ideas and images for other races' patrols. On the whole Orks are incapable of stealth and subtlety, where other races would try to not to draw attention to themselves, Orks could not help doing so. So I decided to bear this in mind when designing a patrol. The cool thing about orks of course is they are relatively cheap compared to many other races and therefore it is possible to have quite a large force. I have tried two types of patrol so far: A Speed Freeks patrol, great fun but a risky force as it only had ten models. (I will post this patrol when I have some decent pics) and an 'ordinary' Ork patrol.

Tim's Orks

Troop choice, a smal unit of Burna Boyz Elite choice, Stormboyz, led by Goffgor. Heavy Support, 2 Killer Kans

The Patrol is made up of three units which break down into two groups. The first is the Stormboyz mob, 13 figures strong, led by a Nob, Goffgorr. Their role is to get across the battlefield as quickly as possible and engage the enemy in combat. Against good combat troops they come out well and against inept combat troops, Tau Fire Warriors, Eldar Guardians, and Guardsmen they rule.

The second group is made up of the two slower units; the Burna Boyz are very dangerous if they survive , they have four burnas, great as either flamers or power weapons. The Killer Kans provide me with extra fire power and unlike a good number of light vehicles are immune to most small arms fire from the front.

This is quite a large patrol, which has the added benefit of having to take 10 casualties before it needs to make bottle tests.

The mighty Stormboy Nob, Goffgorr. This model has trophies collected from vanquished Space Marines.

Goffgor leads the Stormboyz, a unit of 13 jump-pack equipped Close Combat specialists. When these boyz get to assault and all of them make it into base to base contact they get a massive 53 attacks. Combine this with their choppas ability to reduce a save to 4+ makes them an extremely dangerous threat to even the best assault specialists in other patrols.
