Go on patrol!Codex Amendments
On these pages you will find unofficial amendments to the 40k codexes to allow for flexibility in your games of 40k in 40 minutes. None of these are obligatory changes, and they should only be used after notifying your opponent. In some cases they are un-playtested by me, so I don't guarantee they will work, if they don't let me know.

Imperial Guard Sentinel Ace (By Dan Beresford of Chesterfield, England)

Hoorah! Somebody who agrees that a Sentinel patrol would be pretty cool. Dan has created a leader for such a force, so over to Dan...

I have recently gone to the effort of building some sentinels, inlcuding an ACE to lead a patrol. The new patrol will appear shortly as will the ACE. Several people have made some suggestions for the ACE and I have incorporated some of them into Dan's original. (23.01.04)

Seeing as how Imperial Guard command platoons may include a squadron of Sentinels I thought that it seemed logical for the best Sentinel pilots in the regiment to make up these Sentinel squadrons. So I thought that a nice little addition to 40k Patrol would be a Sentinel Pilot as a HQ model, seeing as Sentinels are scout vehicles anyway. So why wouldn’t an Imperial Colonel entrust the command of a Patrol force to one of his trusted Sentinel Ace’s?

Well, with that in mind, I set out to come up with some rules for a Sentinel Ace to add a little flavour to games of Patrol Clash. Enjoy.

A Sentinel Ace counts as a HQ choice and follows all the rules for Sentinels, including all the weapon variants (Armageddon, Deathworld and Cadian Patterns), and vehicle upgrades.

A sentinel Ace can take a twin-linked weapon for twice the original cost.

A Sentinel Ace has access to a Comm. Link, Scanner and Trademark Item. Also, the Sentinel Ace may take a Holy Relic, but if so the Sentinel Ace must be represented by a Sentinel crewed by an Imperial Preacher. This has no game effect other than the ability to carry a holy relic; it is just for the converters out there.

In addition, when a Sentinel Ace is fielded as the patrol leader then Sentinel squadrons become troops choices instead of fast attack. All other force organisation choices remain the same.

To add to Dan's Ace, and in light of the answer to FAQ7 about Leadershipless patrols I suggest that an ACE has a Ld of 8 as well.

Cheers Dan send me a pic please!
