| On these pages you will find unofficial amendments to the 40k codexes to allow for flexibility in your games of 40k in 40 minutes. None of these are obligatory changes, and they should only be used after notifying your opponent. In some cases they are un-playtested by me, so I don't guarantee they will work, if they don't let me know. | ||||||||||||||||||||

Necron Thane One of the earliest questions to arise was how could Necron players have an HQ choice when the only option is the Necron Lord, a 3 wound character. The obvious answer is to adjust the stat line slightly and reduce the points cost, thereby creating a new lesser leader type. Looking at the stats of the Necron Lord there is ample room for reductions. So here it is the answer to your concerns.
The Thane is an HQ Choice and costs 50pts For an extra 5pts it may be equipped with a Gauss Blaster, or for 10pts a Gauss Cannon. It may have 25pts worth of equipment from the Necron Armoury. The Thane may make We'll Be Back rolls as a Lord would.
This Thane model was created by using the body section and weapon of a Destroyer on a Warrior body. A simple yet effective conversion. Conversion and painting by Matt Dunt. Not bad for a 9 year old!!
